Patricia Anne (Becker) Machine, age 80, of Killeen, Texas, passed away in her home on January 13, 2026. She was born on May 7, 1945, in Des Moines, Iowa. She was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Those who knew her called her Patty, and Patty lived a full and vibrant life. She was definitely passionate about having fun!
Patty enjoyed bowling and playing games. She rolled in several different leagues in Killeen and on Fort Hood. She often went on road trips to the Texas State Bowling Tournaments with her friends. She regularly played Spades and Pinochle at the American Legion in Killeen and the VFW in Copperas Cove. Patty also loved a good game of Scrabble, Cribbage, Tonk, Backgammon, or Dominos. You name the game, and she had probably played it.
Patty loved to travel. She would take the family camping, tubing, and exploring. She made sure the kids learned to love amusement parks and roller coasters, just like she did. She also hunted. She picked up this hobby in her 50s, and how proud she was when she took down her first buck! Give Patty a map and an idea, and she had no problem hitting the road in search of the next adventure.
Patty absolutely loved finding treasures at garage sales and flea markets, too. For more than a decade, she could be found at the “World’s Largest Flea Market” in Canton, TX, on the first Monday of every month. There, she would share funny and unique stories about the trinkets she had brought with her to sell.
Patty also loved being a soldier’s wife. She was married to Donald Lee Machine for 23 years before they divorced. While he served in the U.S. Army, Patty kept things going at home so Donald could serve without worry and eventually earn the rank of Sergeant Major. She was an active member of the NCO Wives Club and SGM Wives Club during active duty years, and after retirement, Patty volunteered in the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a great military spouse!
Above all else, Patty loved her children. Together, Patty and Donald raised five children. Patty could always be seen - and heard - as she cheered for her kids at sporting events, in academic pursuits, and at all kinds of activities. She was present in the schools, after school, and at extracurricular activities. She was an enthusiastic and supportive mom, and she was a staunch defender of her children when it was appropriate.
And she loved her children very much and was very proud of each of them.
Patty is survived by her brother Fred Becker, Leon, KS; brother Earl Becker, Mound City, KS; sister Mary Ross, Lacygne, KS; son Dee Machine, Converse, TX; daughter Candace Hurley, Annville, PA; daughter Dina Ruiz-Andaluz, Hope Mills, NC; son John Machine, Hope Mills, NC; and 15 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and stepmother Wayne Richard and Edith Amanda Becker, her stepfather and mother Thomas Wayne and Florence Evelyn (Bloodgood) Jordan, and her son James Patrick Machine.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 2 p.m., at Killeen City Cemetery, 2800 E. Rancier Ave., Killeen, TX, with a meal and fellowship to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a memorial donation in Patty’s honor to a charitable organization that serves your community.
