Raymond (Ray) Brown (73), born and raised in Monroe, Michigan, passed away on 16 March 2024 in Temple, Texas. He was born on 3 Nov 1950 to Dorothy and Dwain Brown.
He was baptized and received confirmation at Trinity Lutheran Church, Monroe, MI. Ray also attended Trinity Lutheran Church School for 5 years before transferring to Jefferson High School, where he graduated in 1968.
His proudest achievement was his Army career, which lasted from 1982 – 2002. During this time he was promoted from Private to Staff Sergeant and also was deployed to Saudi Arabia during Desert Shield/Desert Storm. While serving his first tour overseas, he met and married the love of his life, Beate (Wink) in Ettlingen, Germany.
Ray is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Beate, from Killeen, TX, brother Greg (Karen) Brown from Monroe, MI, his sister Lynette (Jack) Cummings from Joliet, IL, daughter Jennifer (Wade) Gardner, son Adam Brown, 5 grandchildren, multiple great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ronnie (Pam) and brother Jerry (Donna and Marge).
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Crawford-Bowers in Killeen, TX. Ray will be laid to rest with full Military Honors at the Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX
