

Services for Mr. Hale will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen with Jeff and Connie Hoylman officiating. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow at Killeen City Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Raymond was born on September 17, 1939 in Anacoco, La. to Juston M. and Thelma E. Phillips Hale. He joined the Army in 1957 and served his country bravely for over 22 years before retiring in 1979. During his time in the Army, he was stationed overseas multiple times, including three tours in Vietnam. After retiring, Mr. Hale worked as a technician in the chemical industry specializing in the removal and clean-up of asbestos and other hazardous chemicals.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Marvin (Ray) and James (Jimmy) Hale, a sister Billie Hale, and his first wife, Yun Im Hale (Kim).
He is survived by his wife Shirley, sister Helen Fearn, two daughters Lee and her husband Jesse and their four children Calvin, Jake, Cooper, and Carson, Helen and her husband Steve and their children Merisa, Brenan, Payton, and Teagan, a son James and his son Dylan Hale, son-in-law Chris Davis, many family members in Korea, step-daughters Gina Williams and her husband Ric,Marla Parker and her husband Boyd, step-sons Kenneth Mullins and his wife Mariselle, Randy Mullins and his wife Debi, and Wendell Mullins, 15 step-grandkids and 19 step-great-grandkids along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, his special friend Tan Petterson-Reed, and his beloved dog, Misty.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Christian Cable, Dr. Shirley Jones, and Dr. Jeffrey Hubert,Jesse Reid,Steve Files, Chris Davis, Randy Mullins, Ric Williams, and Jeremy Mullins.
Raymond loved the gathering of family and friends, camping, fishing, and playing cards, dominoes, and slot machines.
The family would like to express their thanks to Providence Hospice for their loving care of Raymond. Thanks especially to Brandy Clark, Ronnie McKnight, Shirley Acevedo, Debbie Simcox, and Chaplain Danny Tomlinson, as well as the Scott and White 6th Floor Staff.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Providence Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
