I will miss the oldest friend I have ever had. My wife lost a grandpa; my father-in-law lost a dad. We all lost a great man that raised some great men and a wonderful father. Poppy fought a long, hard fight and we knew that the day would one day come when he no longer had to fight. I bet he is in heaven, sitting on a lake, and pulling in that great big bass. You won't be able to blame me if this one gets away Pop. My heart is heavy, but I'm still happy that you are in a better place. R.I.P Pop Hill. Rest assure we will always take care of Granny.

I will never forget the first time I came to Killeen to meet Poppie, not what I expected. He was so nice to me and he took me on a tour of Ft. Hood and to the Shopette. I liked the fact that he was a hard man, but I was able to see the softer side of him. He was always sweet to me, and I will never forget the time that we shared.
