Richard Christopher Wiestling

SFC Richard C. Wiestling, 40 of Harker Heights, TX passed away on July 20, 2024. He is survived by his loving wife, Francheska Wiestling, and children, Charlotte Wiestling, Richard Christopher Wiestling Jr. and Ayden Wiestling.

SFC Richard C. Wiestling honorably served over 17 years in the United States Army. He made a forever impression on those who had the honor of knowing him. He was known by all for his huge heart, compassion, loyalty, selfless service, brutal honesty, and witty commentary.

Throughout his life, SFC Wiestling dedicated himself to the Military Police Corps Regiment, including a combat tour to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2008 and again to Afghanistan in Support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2012. Along with countless awards and decorations. SFC Wiestling was a respected mentor, guiding young soldiers in their careers. His selflessness and unwavering dedication to helping others was truly remarkable.

In addition to this, he was a beloved husband, father and friend. He found profound happiness in riding motorcycles, working in the garage, and spending everyday with his family. He enjoyed taking his daughter (Charlotte) to Gymnastics and spending extra time to make sure she was going to master her next move. He spent his weekends building train tracks, and racing cars with his Son, RJ. He was a father who shared countless moments of laugher and love with his family. SFC Wiestling never put anything above his family. He was an amazing husband who loved so deeply and fiercely. Nobody can fill his shoes, but we know he will always be with us, watching over us. SFC Richard Christopher Wiestling’s legacy is carried on through his family, whom he loved with every fiber of his being.

A Visitation for Richard will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will occur Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at 12:00 PM. followed by a Committal Service with Full Military Honors at 2:00 PM at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
