

Robert, or “Snaxx” as he was affectionally known, was tragically taken from his family on Feb. 7, 2018, in Killeen.
Robert was born on April 28, 1965, in San Diego, California, to Donald and Sandra (Shurtz) Blunt. He graduated from Granite Hills High in El Cajon, California, and joined the Army shortly thereafter, where he was a highly decorated solider for his 20-year service. He was a veteran of the Gulf War and earned his associate’s degree while serving.
He married Deborah Austin on Oct. 13, 1989. After leaving the Army he was a contractor for the military for five years before going to welding school.
Robert lived life to the fullest by spending time with family and friends. Robert enjoyed building motorcycles as well as riding them. Robert was an active member in the Kinfolk Motorcycle Club. “Respect is earned, loyalty returned.”
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Donald Douglas Blunt; mother, Sandra Sue Nickell; grandfather, Fred Marshall Shurtz and grandmother, Melba Shurtz.
Robert is survived by his devoted wife, Deborah Blunt of Harker Heights; two daughters, Heather Johnson and husband Michael Johnson of Nashville, Tennessee, and Emilie Blunt and fiancé Clay Rayburn of College Station; son, Colton Boke of Branson, Missouri; brother Michael Blunt of San Diego, California; aunt Kathy Balsley of San Diego, California; granddaughter Addison Johnson of Nashville, Tennessee; and Brothers of the Kinfolk.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Army Emergency Relief (AER) www.aerhq.org.
