

The first born of nine children, Roger was a natural-born leader.
Roger graduated from Centre High School in 1959. He attended Brown Mackie College in Salina for a time then joined the United States Air Force. It was during his deployment to the Philippines that he met and married Lolita Arco. Together they raised four children and traveled from base to base in the US and abroad for his 25+ years of service in the Air Force. During his years of service, Roger attained the rank of Staff Sergeant and served in the Viet Nam War as a Forward Air Controller where he received the Bronze Star.
After retiring from the Air Force, Roger continued to work on the Fort Hood military base at the bowling alley.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, his lovely wife, Lolita, his daughter, Nancy Harrison, and his son Russell Dvorak. He is survived by two sons, Donald (Gina) Dvorak and Dale (Chris) Dvorak; granddaughters Lindsey Dvorak and Jessica Dvorak; grandsons Josh Dvorak, Silvester Harrison III, Drayton Harrison, Micah Dvorak, and Noah Dvorak; great-grandchildren Jayne and Blaze; brothers, John (Carol), Tom (Janel), Emil (Nancy), Dave (Sue), Mike (Carleen); and sisters Karen Druse (Don), Margaret (Tom) NIles, and Marlene (John) Clayton.
Roger enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren grow and participate in sports. He would often call his sons to talk about the Dallas Cowboys during football season.
Funeral and burial arrangements are as follows. A memorial service for Roger will be held Friday, May 26, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home, 1615 S. Fort Hood Street, Killeen, TX.
Following the memorial service will be a burial, with military honors, at 2:00 PM at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 Texas Highway 195, Killeen, TX.
