I had the pleasure of attending high school with Woodie. We graduated from Messick High School in Memphis in 1955. He was always such a pleasure to be around. He filled the room with joy and laughter with his presence. Since we graduated I've only gotten to see him every 5 years at our reunions but I always looked forward to seeing him. He will be sadly missed at our next reunion but I know he has them laughing in heaven. My prayers are with his daughter and granddaughter and may God bring you peace.

To the family we are so sorry for your loss.

Woodie was a very nice man and fellow Veteran. As our friend and co-owner at the Island House in Corpus Christi, TX he was always funny and the life of the HOA meetings. Whenever, we were all tired and ready to end our annual HOA meetings everyone would ask Woodie to make a motion to Adjourn! He did, and we got out of there with a laugh! He always had a good joke too to end the meeting. May God Bless him and may God take care of him!

We are sure going to miss him, but he will be forever in hearts!

Love,

Jack & Patricia, Round Rock, TX

Treasured memories of so many laughs and fun conversations with a super sweet and gentle soul. You will forever be missed but we know you are now with your Beloved Marti. Knowing this, makes for happy smiles. We are so glad we were able to visit you both and to so recently have a window visit with you at the nursing home. That smile and that sweet voice will always be a blessed memory.
Rest In Peace Always.

I will miss my friend so much. Enjoyed visiting him, chatting in person and on the phone, bringing him his whopper burgers and diet Dr thunder, and talking and remembering so many things in our past with the army, our spouses, places we were, and just our friendship. He was a hoot to be around, and we will all miss him greatly!

I’ll miss him badly he would come visit me at the PX. And we would sit and visit for hours. Talking about nothing and everything. He was such pleasure to be around. He had to approve my new husband. And when they met he gave me his thumbs up!
Such good memories of that warm kind smile and loving heart!
