Rosalind Smith, devoted wife, mother, sister, grandma, great-grandma, and friend passed away peacefully on July 7, 2015 in her home. Rosalind was admired and adored by her family, friends and everyone with whom she came in contact. Her beauty, grace, and passion for life, sophisticated elegance, and attention to detail radiated in everything she did.
Rosalind was born to the late Earhardt and Edith Buchholz on October 22, 1942 in Berlin Germany. She married the love of her life Ronald Smith on August 15, 1962.
Her 53-year marriage to her beloved sweetheart Ronald was the perfect love story as a continuous example of true friendship, devotion, mutual respect and teamwork. Seldom did you ever find them apart. Showing her legendary unconditional love and support for her children, grand children, and great- grand children, as she always put them first. The friends of Rosalind’s children and grand children also loved and admired her as a second mother/ grandmother, and cannot remember when she was not there for them. Rosalind’s values of honesty, integrity, hard work, perseverance, and commitment to excellence in everything she did will be forever remembered by every family member, and every friend, young and old.
Rosalind’s door was always open.
Rosalind will be greatly missed and remembered by those surviving her, including her loving husband Ronald W. Smith; their three children: Rick Smith (Angie), Ingo Smith (Sherry), and Sissy Davis (Jeff); grandchildren: Stephanie Davis, Garad Smith, Wyatt Smith, the late Brandon DeLa’O, Mikey Weber and Alex Weber; great-grand children: Areyanna Gaines and Brycen Smith; her sister Irmhild Funk (Wolfgang), niece Monika Schultze (Willard) and nephew Winfried Funk (Annie).
Visitation will be held 9:00 am on Monday, July 13, 2015 at Crawford and Bowers Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held immediately following at 10:30; burial will take place at the Killeen Veterans Cemetery at 12:00 p.m.
