He served his country during the Vietnam era. He was a true fan of sports, boxing being his favorite. He was in many people's lives who loved him and considered him a friend and had done good things for many people. He always took the time to call the people that were close to him, just to say hello and see what you are doing. Those calls will be missed. He was funny and could make a bad day better.
Rudy is survived by his father, Eugenio Gonzales Sr.; his son, Julian Gonzales; his two brothers, Eugene Gonzales Jr. and Robert Gonzales; his three sisters: Mary E. Dominguez, Carol A. Riojas, Diana Haubrich; and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, who he loved dearly, Frances Dominguez; and his grandparents.
Rudy had many challenges during his lifetime but faced them with strength and endurance and we will take comfort that he is no longer suffering and is finally free. Rest in peace and know you are loved and will be greatly missed.
Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, July 15, 2016 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery with military honors.
