

Sarah May Salas, 44, of Killeen, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 after a battle with cancer, surrounded by her love ones. She was known for her heart of gold, being a selfless, loving, caring woman and mother. Despite her illness, she remained strong and determined, showing incredible bravery until the very end.
Sarah was born April 23, 1980 in West Sacramento, California to Julian R. Salas and Carmen Hernandez. Sarah was the youngest of her 6 siblings,. Throughout her life, Sarah was a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant who cared deeply for others. She was known for her compassionate and nurturing nature, always putting the needs of her patients and family above her own. She enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping, listening to music (reggaeton, country… you name it). She took great pleasure in shopping for her loved ones whether it was something big or small. If it made her think of you while she was buying it. She also loved creating unforgettable memories with everyone around her and just living in the moment. This is definitely something we will miss and we will cherish every moment, every second we had with Sarah, she leaves behind a legacy of compassion and care that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Sarah was preceded in death by her newborn daughter, Yailis Leilani Salas-Urquhart. Josefina Hernandez, Bicente Salas Sr., Juanita Rodriguez Salas, Ruben Salas of Sacramento, California, Norman Salas and Norma Jean Salas also preceded her in death.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Isabel Halterman (Husband: Adrian Espinoza), Patrick Cox Jr, Giovanni Salas-Urquhart, Mireya Salas-Urquhart and Cyrus Salas-Urquhart. She also leaves behind her siblings Julian Harvey Salas (wife: Helen Salas) of Nolanville, TX, David Salas (wife: Olivia Salas) of Ralls, TX, JoAnn Merithew of Nolanville, TX, Norma Salas of Nolanville, TX and Joey Salas (wife: Bobbi Salas) of Nolanville, TX and countless nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great- nephews. Sarah was a such special person, whom they will miss terribly and will never forget the mother, sister, aunt and friend that everyone loved.
A visitation will be on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 6 pm to 8 pm with the Rosary at 7 pm at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen. A mass of Christian burial will be at 10 am on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Nolanville, Texas.
