

Shirley grew up in Menominee, Wisconsin, and later pursued a career as a telephone operator with Centel, until her retirement. Her dedication to her work was matched by her love for her family and her interests.
She was born to Walter and Gladys Drake Stewart, and had four sisters, Merle Stewart, Mary Stewart, Joyce Denson and Audrey Giles. and one brother, Malcolm Stewart. Shirley was married to Gordon Bauer, with whom she shared a great life until his passing.
Shirley leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, Michael Wardrup and Dave Wardrup(Dana); grandchildren, Jake Wardrup and Jenny Klonowski(Daniel); great-grandson, Zane Wardrup; sister, Audrey Giles.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Merle, Mary and Joyce, and her brother, Malcolm.
Shirley had a passion for cats, at one time caring for seven. She enjoyed gardening and was happiest when working in her yard, whether with a hoe or a chainsaw. She loved growing blue sage and other Texas wildflowers.
A committal service will be held in her honor at Killeen Cemetery, located at 2408 E Rancier Ave, Killeen, TX 76543, on November 14, 2025, at 11:00 am.
Shirley's memory will forever be cherished by her family and all who knew her.
