Stephen Williamson was born on September 25, 1976, and passed away on September 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous fifteen-year battle with a brain tumor. Diagnosed in 2011 and given a prognosis of five to six years, Stephen fought with a strength and determination that defied every expectation, living far longer than doctors predicted. He was, without question, the strongest person his family ever knew.
Stephen was happiest outdoors. Whether hiking through rugged trails or spending an afternoon on the disc golf course, he found peace and joy in the natural world. That same love of nature became the heart of his art. A brilliant and gifted painter, Stephen was especially known for his depictions of Texas landscapes, capturing light with a rare sensitivity that made his work feel alive. Through his paintings, he shared the beauty he saw on every trail and under every sky.
Beyond his talent, Stephen was remembered for his heart. He was one of the kindest souls anyone could know, always ready to lend a hand to help a friend in need. His generosity, warmth, and quiet strength touched everyone who crossed his path.
Stephen attended Killeen High School before making the military move with his parents for his senior year where he graduated from Seoul American High School as the valedictorian. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Stephen F. Austin University and then went on to complete a Master of Science in Biotechnology from Stephen F. Austin and a second Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Tyler. Ultimately, the profession that he found the most joy in was as an electrician where he was part of a crew that he loved working with every day.
Stephen is survived by his parents Roger and Karen Williamson; his brother, Eric Williamson; sister-in-law, Lynnea Williamson; and his nephew Nolen Williamson along with uncles, aunts, and cousins who will carry his memory, his art, and his spirit forward.
A Celebration of Life service for Stephen will be held on Sunday October 4, 2026, at 2:30pm. The service will be held at Harker Heights Methodist Church which is located at 208 W. Cardinal Lane, Harker Heights, TX 76548. A reception will be held in the fellowship hall after the service.
