

Mrs. Poyer-Eteuati died Aug. 6, 2012, after a long illness at Scott & White Hospital in Temple. She was born Oct. 19, 1963, in Laulili, America Samoa, to Gata Molivaa Poyer and Maina M. Poyer.
She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. Her love and commitment to serve her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, was her strength and guide in her life. She was the prayer warrior of the family.
She attended Fagaitua High School in America Samoa, then moved to Long Beach, Calif., where she graduated from Long Beach Polytech High School. She moved to Killeen, where she met and married the love of her life, Lene Eteuati.
She committed her life to serve her Lord in various ministries in Killeen and Hawaii. She was one of the founding members of some of those ministries and is the reason that they are around today.
She will be sorely missed each and every day by her family, friends and everyone who knew her.
Mrs. Poyer-Eteuati was preceded in death by her sisters, Nela Poyer and Itania Poyer; father, Gata Molivaa Poyer, mother, Maina M. Poyer; and brother, Asopaepae Poyer.
Survivors include her husband, Lene; son, Absalom Schuester Eteuati; brothers, Aeto (Lusia Eneliko) of Long Beach, Calif., Epa Maxwell (Malia Talea) of Lauli'i, America Samoa, Tasi Seuga (Debbie Decker) of Tacoma, Wash., Danny (Sheryl Brill) of Dallas, Faamanu (Malia Matautia) of Wahiawa, Hawaii, Taulafogo Frank (Kathy Baumann) of Louisburg, N.C., Esau (Michelle Dunn) of Hockley, Iakopo (Joy Volk) of Virginia Beach, Va., Inosia (Jennifer Goble) of Hahira, Ga., and Faalaeu (Julie Baxter) of Astoria, Ore.; numerous nieces and nephews. Extended family and friends also grieve her passing.
Visitation is from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at First Assembly of God Church in Killeen. A family service will follow from 7 to 10 p.m.
Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen is in charge of arrangements.
