Ted "Doug" Lee Douglas
January 7, 1947 – October 10, 2017
Sargent First Class (RET) Ted Douglas, 70, passed away peacefully at Seton Medical Hospital on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. He is highly decorated Vietnam veteran and Bronze Star recipient with 26 years of service. SFC Douglas was born on January 7, 1947 in Clarksville, Tennessee to Roy Douglas and Alice Smith. SFC Douglas was a brave and loyal soldier, as well as a patient and loving husband and father. He was also very passionate about his grandson Coty’s Special Olympics Team.
He married Velma Kay Ryder in Woodlawn, Tennessee on August 13, 1977.
He is preceded in death by his father, Roy Douglas and his mother Alice Smith. He is survived by his Wife, Kay, Son, Martin and wife Jessica, Daughters; Delinda and husband Bob, Tina and husband Carl and Teresa, Grandchildren; Ashley, Coty, Tyler and Sophia, Sisters; Brenda, Priscilla, Martha Ruth, Melanie and Melissa, Brother, Jimmy.
A viewing will take place at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home on October 15 from 4-8 pm with the burial taking place on October 16 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery at 9am.
