Mr. Mills died Sept. 1, 2010, in Killeen. He was born Sept. 18, 1932, in Barbourville, Ky.
He retired from the U.S. Army as a sergeant first class with the following awards: Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device 60, Vietnam Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster. He had lived in the Killeen area since 1969.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen of Killeen; daughter, Mary Barr and her husband, Scott, of Harker Heights; grandchildren, Tyler and Megan Barr, both of Harker Heights; brother, Clifton Mills of Oregon; and a sister, Gypsy Fraelick of Coshocton, Ohio.
