Valerie found her greatest joy in her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a cherished daughter, sister, and friend. Her loving heart and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her husband, Homero Nunez Jr., and her three children, Nathan, Isabella, and Noah, who will carry her love with them always.
Valerie is preceded in death by her father, Jesus Benavides.
She is survived by her mother, Margarita Benavides; her sisters, Veronica Dash, Vickie Benavides VanDenBos, and Vanessa Benavides Olivas; as well as her nephew, Matthew Benavides, and niece, Camilla Olivas.
She was a proud graduate of Ellison High School, Class of 1991.
Funeral service will be Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 2 pm at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home, 1615 S. Fort Hood St., Killeen, Texas, 76542. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Hwy 190, Killeen, TX 76542.
A celebration of Valerie’s life will be held on March 21, 2026, at 5:00 PM at
