

Funeral service for Virginia Greene, 80 of Killeen will be on Thursday July 21,2011 at 9:30 AM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen. Burial will follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery with military honors.
She was born to John and Fannie Campbell on May 2. 1931 in Ponta, Texas and passed away on july 15, 2011 in Temple, Texas. She served in the Women’s Army Corp from 1950 to 1952 and was discharged as a CPL. She served in Okinawa and in the Army chemical Center In Maryland. After her tour in the Army she worked civil service for more than 30 years before retiring.
She served as the president of the Retired SGT Majors Aux., the Women’s Army Corp organization and served as a Deacon at Central Christian Church. She was a member of DAV Aux and American Legion 223.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Command SGT Major Charlie R. Greene, four sisters and one brother.
Survivors include three sons Richard “Sonny” Jaramillo, John Eric “Tiger” Greene and Ray McLeod , one daughter Ruthan Josten, eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 6-8pm on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at the funeral home.
