Vivian Irene Stephens

Born on August 28, 1929 in Bartlett, Texas to Hubert and Lelia Hunt Brock, she lived a life defined by kindness, strength, resilience, and unwavering love for her family. She married the love of her life, Marvin Eugene Stephens, on May 22, 1947, right out of high school. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend whose gentle spirit and caring heart touched everyone who knew her. Her work ethic and hours she spent pouring into serving others made strong impacts on generations to come.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, celebrating special occasions, and cheering on her beloved Texas Rangers. She preferred listening to the games over the radio, a nostalgic nod to her childhood. She enjoyed gardening, playing games with family and friends, fishing, and in her later years quilting and crocheting. Her warmth, natural sense of humor, and beautiful smile will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Marvin Eugene Stephens, infant son Stephen Stephens, her daughter Sally Stephens, her son Marvin Robert Stephens, her daughter in law Natalie Stephens, two loving parents, four brothers, and one sister. She is survived by her son Harold Stephens, daughter Tammy Ellis and husband Fred, daughter in law Sherry Stephens, grandchildren Eugene Stephens and wife Christy, Bryan Stephens and wife Jaime, Jason Stephens, Patsy Corn and husband Josh, Preston Ellis and wife Lisa, Rachel Stephens, Mason Ellis and wife Emily, Emily Love Williams and husband Jerry, and fifteen great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at Crawford-Bowers on July 7, 2026, 6-8pm, followed by a graveside service at Bartlett City Cemetery on July 8, 2026 at 10am.

Though she will be deeply missed, her love, faith, and hamburger recipe that cannot be imitated lives on in the hearts of her family forever. Today you will be taking home the most beautiful reminder from her of where our hope comes from and who we lean on in times of trouble, written by her to her children shortly after the passing of her beloved husband.
