

Services for Wallace M. Morgan, a retired Petroleum Geologist, will be 11:30 Friday, April 13, 2012 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home Chapel in Killeen. Burial will follow at the Central Texas Veterans Cemetery.
Wallace passed away April 7, 2012 at the age of 89.
He was born in Fort Worth, Texas to Winnie and Ira Meeks Morgan. He graduated from Arlington Heights High School, Texas Christian University and attended Law School at Texas University in Austin.
Wallace was employed as a Staff Geologist by Western Gas Company in Houston, working the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast regions.
Wallace was an Oil and Gas Operator and Producer in Houston for several years and later worked for several Fort Worth oil companies as a consultant and on retainer with Plover Productions, Cass Edwards, Dynamic Production Co., and Ridley Wheeler Estate.
During World War II, with the 8th Air Force, Wallace flew 29 combat missions over Germany and occupied France, and received the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Purple Heart, the World War II Victory Medal, the National Defense medal, the Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters and his Bomb Group, the 305th , received the Presidential Citation. Four of his Flight Crew were killed in action for our freedom.
Wallace was a member of the Broadway Baptist Church, The American Association of Petroleum Geologist, past master of the Houston, Geological Society, the Forth Worth Petroleum Club , and was a member of the American Legion.
Wallace enjoyed his friends and the art and science of geology.
He is survived by his beloved wife Rosemary, sons John, Robert and daughter-in-law Patty, Edward and daughter-in-law Rebecca, Donald, daughter Susan Robinson and son-in-law Larry, ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors from 6-8pm Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the funeral home.
