Waneta (Neta) was born on January 23rd, 1925 in Junction City, Kansas, to Carrie & George Sheaffer. Neta was the youngest of 12 children. She learned very early the value of family and instilled that in her own children over the years. After graduating high school, she worked at the Post Exchange in Junction City, where she gained many unique and esteemed skills and long-lasting friends. She also loved volunteering with Meals on Wheels in Belton.
Neta devoted her life to being an amazing wife to her husband Earl of 19 years, as well as a selfless mother to her 5 children, Karen, Phil, Valerie, Pam & Cheryl. Her love for them was unwavering and never-failing. While raising her children, Neta dedicated her life to God and her family by volunteering at her church for many years. She was an avid lover of animals and donated to various animal charities. She also spent much of her time caring for many young children in addition to her own over the years. Those who knew Neta, remember her as being genuine, sweet-natured and loving to all she encountered.
Neta was known for her kind heart, loving spirit and selfless disposition. Neta made an impact on everyone who met her because of how special she made them feel. Family meant everything to her, and she was happiest when she was surrounded by all of them. Laughing, or playing a good game of Rummy and boasting about how she could beat anyone who played with her. Neta devoted her life to Christ and she loved attending her Sunday School class at First Baptist Church in Belton, Texas. Neta will be missed by those who knew her most and loved her vibrant personality. Her grandchildren & great grandchildren, especially, will miss seeing her light up everytime she saw one of them. Neta will be remembered for many, many things - but mostly for the amount of love she had for her family and friends.
To say she will be missed is an understatement, but we rest in knowing she is with our Lord and Savior.
She is survived by her loving children, Phil Baltzer (Faye) of Williams, Arizona, Karen Glascock of Belton, Valerie Gilbert of Belton, Pam Copeland (Mike) of Harker Heights, and Cheryl Bass (Robert) of Belton, She is also survived by all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Baltzer, her 11 siblings, her son-in-law William Gilbert and great-great grandchild, Jason Everett.
