COL (Ret.) William "Bo" Harold Bohannon

Bo proudly served his country in the United States Army, retiring with the rank of Colonel after a distinguished career marked by dedication, leadership, and integrity. A humble Green Beret, Bo served multiple tours in Vietnam and Thailand. He completed more than 25 years of military service, earning numerous awards and distinctions, including the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, and Expert Infantryman Badge, among many others. His service reflected a lifelong commitment to duty and to the soldiers he led and served alongside.

Raised in Alabama, Bo developed a lifelong love for the outdoors, a passion that stayed with him throughout his life. He enjoyed gardening and spending time outside and had a deep appreciation for antiques and working with his hands. He was a devoted family man, a dedicated father, and a loving PawPaw to his nine grandsons—Ryan, Griffin, Collin, Silas, Jude, Mameru, Ira, Ezra, and Zecharias—and one great-granddaughter, Eleanor, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride..

Bo was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Willie Mae Bohannon; his sisters, Eloise McKee, Jackie Bohannon, and Lynda White; and his infant daughter, Julia Elizabeth Bohannon.

Bo is survived by the love of his life and cherished wife of 61 years, Cherry Forsythe Bohannon; his children, Dr. William Todd Bohannon (Melissa), Katy Bohannon, and Jill Bohannon Coen (Marshall).

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

Bo’s life was one of service, devotion, humility, and quiet strength. He was his family’s humble hero.
