I feel very blessed to have known Alice, I have never known someone so reliable, organized, or dedicated to her church and family. I first met Alice when I began helping with the friendship cards at church, and looked forward to visiting with her every Wednesday morning. I miss her, and think of her now whenever I am there. She taught my daughter and I how to make baby hats, as well as some of the other teenagers in our congregation. She is a great example of a Christian woman, and I will always remember her fondly.

I first met Alice when she joined our monthly church newsletter group. We assembled the newsletter and prepared them for bulk mailings. As many people who live in Kingwood we had left our families back home. This group of ladies helped fill the void of not having my mother & family close by. The hours of conversation and the wisdom these women shared with me. I would often go home and tell my husband about Alice, she was someone to look up to with her no nonsense approach to things. This past April, Alice taught me to make baby hats. The first one was blue, less than a month after making my first blue baby hat I found out I was expecting my first grandbaby. I gave my daughter the first blue hat that I made and one month ago I welcomed my first grandson into the world. I will sure miss Alice, but always remember . . . Moni Butler, Kingwood, Texas

Alice was a volunteer at Jesse H. Jones Park & Nature Center in Humble for nearly 12 years. As recently as last year she contributed 100 hours to the park, receiving the President's Volunteer Service Award, a national honor. She stitched mobcaps and drawstring bags for the Settler Store, and sewed and mended period-correct costumes used in programs and festivals at the park's Redbud Hill Pioneer Homestead.  She also was instrumental in introducing her grandchildren to the park and Summer Nature Camp! We felt blessed to have her among us, and will miss her dearly, especially on festival days when she often assisted at the information table, and was invaluable in handling visitors, volunteers and questions. She really knew her stuff!  Alice has left clear footprints in the park for others to follow who share her passion for natural history and pioneer heritage.

I feel very fortunate to have know Alice.  She was a special lady with many talents. It is because of her that I am now making the "baby hats" - she got me started on these, and I love crocheting them. She also showed me how to do the "Friendship Cards" -  I looked forward to Wednedays, and visiting with her at the church.         Gloria Pickett

Alice and I sat in the same section at CTK. We talked about family members in the miltary and Jesse Jones Park. The last conversation we had was that we would ride together to the next volunteer meeting.  She was always so friendly, and will be missed. Our prayers go out to her family.
