Amanda Jo Davis

Amanda was a proud graduate of Baylor University with a degree in education. She taught in several school districts. At the age of 32, Amanda became totally blind. She did not let this stop her. She was able to complete her master’s degree in visual impairment from Steven F. Austin. She was actively involved with the VIPSET group in Kingwood and The Lighthouse of Houston.

Amanda was preceded in death by her grand parents Bill and Mary Davis and LC and Jewel Poindexter, Uncles and Aunts Wesley and Johelen Poindexter, Robert and Bonnie Nettles, Charles and Shirley Poindexter, William and Janie Poindexter, Wilbern Poindexter and Jerry Poindexter

She is survived by her parents Jim and Jo Davis of Kingwood, and brother Brian Davis of Houston, Aunts and Uncles, Ronnie and Karen Poindexter of Lumberton, Donnie Poindexter of Doucette, Jimmie and Linda Jenkins of Dallas, Bob and Anne Davis of Pearland, and numerous cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Lighthouse of Houston or charity of your choice.

A committal service will be held at Egypt Cemetery, located at CR 3145, Colmesneil, TX 75938, United States. The service is scheduled for December 7, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
