Avis Greene

Avis J. Greene, of Kingwood, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2012. Avis was born on November 22, 1921 in Timpson, TX. She spent many years as a member of Broadway Baptist, Fredonia First Baptist and Woodridge Baptist Churches. Avis was a faithful, dedicated, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Avis was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Greene; brother, Jim Jolley. She is survived by her sons, George H. Greene, Jr. and wife Brenda, Gary L. Greene and wife Cindy; grandchildren, Jennifer Gorski and husband Jeff, Kindra Schiavi and husband Andrea, Alex Jacobsen and wife Lane, Remy Webb and husband Brad, Christopher Jacobsen; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Gorski, Preston Gorski, Alexander Schiavi, Milo Jacobsen, Tucker Webb; sister-in-law, Marquerite Jolley; nephew, Kenny Jolley.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2012 at Kingwood Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2012 in the Chapel of Kingwood Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston.
