Bettie “Jane” Wesson of Houston, Texas, went to be with the Lord at her home in Kingwood on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at the age of 85. Jane was born on May 30, 1935 at Hermann Hospital in Houston to Maxwell and Leslie Ann Smith. Jane attended San Jacinto High School, where she met her high school sweetheart, Billy, whom she married in a combined wedding with her twin sister, Bonnie Jean, on October 23, 1954 at Riverside Methodist Church in Houston.

Jane appreciated fashion and was always “dressed to the nines”. She held a part time job at Joske’s (now known as Dillard’s), where she worked as a Buyer’s Assistant. After dropping her boys off at school each day, she would go to work at Joske’s, and would still be home in time to pick her boys up from school, cook dinner, and make sure they all made it on time to their different baseball practices. Jane moved to Kingwood in 1990, where she has lived until her passing.

Jane, a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, was a very beautiful person inside and out. Her loving, bubbly personality guaranteed she never knew a stranger. Jane was a long-time member of Strawbridge United Methodist Church and was very involved in the church activities, including XYZ group dinners on Friday nights. She was also a member of Senior Friends hosted by the Kingwood Medical Center. Her proudest moments were the births of her three sons, Ken, David, and Carl, and her several grandchildren. Jane enjoyed traveling domestically and internationally with a group known as the Champion Forest Baptist Church Travel Group. She enjoyed many cruise vacations with her family as well.

In recent years, Jane loved spending time with her family and her dog, Elmer, whom she called her “little boy”. She is survived by Billy F. Wesson (Husband), Ken Wesson (Kay) (Son), David Wesson (Son), Carl Wesson (Carol) (Son), Kyle (Kathryn) (Grandson), Kelly (Granddaughter), Leslie (Kyle) (Granddaughter), Cara (Granddaughter), Cole (Grandson), Gracie (Great Granddaughter), Bonnie Jean Carroll (Sister). She is preceded in death by Maxwell Smith (Father), Leslie Ann Smith (Mother), and Joe (Grandson).

Visitation will be held on April 1, 2021 at 9:00 A.M. at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, TX. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am at Kingwood Funeral Home.
