

Charlie Armstrong of Kingwood, Texas, passed away on June 22, 2023 at the age of 102. He was married to the love of his life, Ilean Armstrong before she passed away in 2011. Charlie was a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne. He served in World War II and the Korean War. He worked in the oil & gas industry for many years and was employed by Texas Eastern Transmission Company and Duke Energy. One of his favorite pastimes was walking. Charlie walked 3 to 4 miles a day at HCA Kingwood Hospital until the hospital was closed to walkers when the Covid Epidemic struck our country in 2020. His passion was to take care of his family and spend time with them. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ilean; his parents, Virgil and Bernice; eleven brothers and sisters; and his son-in-law, David Kegerreis. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Renee Armstrong; daughter Judy Kegerreis; grandchildren, Samantha and Bryan Paul, Bradley Armstrong, Angela Kegerreis and Michael and Kristy Kegerreis; great grandchildren, Brian and Caroline Kegerreis and Leah Kegerreis. Charlie made many friends through the years. He will be missed by all and never forgotten.
Services for Charlie will be held at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038, on Monday, July 10, 2023 at 11:30am.
