Cheryl Diane Halford

Cheryl Diane Halford (Maxwell) of Kingwood, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2026 at the age of 78 after a courageous battle with illness. Cheryl was born on August 29th, 1947, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada to the late Donald and Emily Maxwell. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roger Halford. She leaves behind a legacy of love by her surviving children, Lisa Halford and Stacey (William) Friday; and her cherished grandchildren, Madison and Brady Glew, Mitchell, Baden, Camryn, Keller and Reed Friday. She will be lovingly remembered by her brother, Brian (Helen) Maxwell, sister-in-law, Hollis Wright-Warren, and brother-in-law, Randolph (Anna) Halford; nieces, Michelle and Andrea Maxwell; great niece, Taylor Lambert and a wide circle of dear friends who will forever treasure the memories they shared with her.

Cheryl embraced life with enthusiasm, curiosity, and joy. She loved to travel, especially cruising, and eagerly anticipated each new adventure and the opportunity to explore new places. Many of her favorite moments were trips shared with family and friends, creating treasured memories and lifelong friendships. Yet she was just as happy to spend time gathered around a table, sharing stories, laughter, and playing games. Whether it was a game of dominoes, Aggravation, or—most especially—a hand of cards, she loved the friendly competition as much as the companionship. Generous with her smile, she had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and at ease.

More than anything, Cheryl treasured bringing people together. With family spread across Canada and the United States, she knew that time together was precious and was often the one planning opportunities to gather. Whether it was a week at the lake, a cruise, a holiday celebration, or simply a weekend spent together, she believed the occasion mattered far less than the people who shared it. For much of her life, she delighted in preparing her home to host friends and family, creating a place where everyone felt welcome and every gathering became a cherished memory.

She will be remembered for her infectious laughter, welcoming nature, generous heart, and remarkable ability to make everyone she met feel like a lifelong friend.

A celebration of Cheryl's life will be held at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, TX 77339, US on July 25, 2026, from 12:00pm to 1:00pm with a reception to follow from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend, celebrate her life, and share the stories that made her so special.
