Chris Allen Barron of Kingwood, Texas passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022 after a brief illness. Chris was born in Ruston, Louisiana on December 3, 1966 and grew up in Huntington Beach, California where he attended Edison High School and discovered his love of flying.
Chris began his aviation career as a teen in Orange County, California, quickly earning his Commercial Pilot’s License. He built his flying hours as a charter pilot and flying banners over the beaches of Southern California. After attaining his Airline Transport Pilot Certificate, Chris flew as both a First Officer and Captain for USAir Express in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he was well respected by his peers and had a reputation for being an excellent pilot. Though he left the airline industry in 2004 Chris remained an avid pilot and enjoyed flying the family’s Cessna 310.
Chris is an only child and preceded in death by his parents, Dwain and Linda (Grier) Barron, paternal grandparents Guy and Lucille (Rockett) Barron and maternal grandparents, Jesse and Madeline (McMaster) Grier.
Chris is survived by his wife of 21 years, Misty (Cox) Barron and their two daughters, Emma and Kacey. Also left to cherish his memory are his parents’ brothers and sisters and a host of cousins.
A visitation Chris will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2022, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Kingwood Funeral Home located 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, TX 77339.
