Christine Marie Wittenbrink

She was born in Centreville, Illinois in 1964 to the late Herbert (Hub) Anthony Holzum and Mary Constance (Connie) Holzum, and grew up in Chester, IL. Christy attended Chester High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology at Southeast Missouri State University. Christy married her high school sweetheart, Robert (Chip) Wittenbrink, on May 24th, 1986 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Chester, IL. They were happily married for over 37 years.

Christy was preceded in death by her parents, Hub and Connie Holzum, and is survived by her husband, Chip Wittenbrink; two daughters, Brittney Wittenbrink and Sabrina (Kent) Corso; granddaughter, Scarlett Corso; and siblings, Jeff (Mary) Holzum, Sherry (Sam) Hammel, and Greg (Amy) Holzum.

Christy loved swimming, gardening, and most of all, spending time with her family. She was a world traveler that visited 36 countries and lived in Shanghai, China for five years. She was an avid Astros, Texans, Rockets and Longhorns fan and always dominated at Yahtzee. She was passionate about rescuing animals and always had a house (and bed) full of pets.
