

Cory Vaughn Collman, our beloved and cherished son, brother, grandson, cousin, nephew, friend and colleague passed away on November 10, 2025, at the age of 31. Born on March 23, 1994, Cory was known for his compassionate, devoted, and generous nature, leaving an indelible mark on all those who knew him.
Cory's early education started at Two Dimensions Preparatory Academy Elementary School in Texas, where he was introduced to Black Hebrew Israelite principles and ways of living. Cory could recite the “Our Father Prayer” in Hebrew before the age of four years old. He then attended Holy Rosary Catholic Middle School and Overbrook High School in New Jersey. He furthered his education at Camden County College in New Jersey. His career was marked by his service in the United States Air Force wherein he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant., Cory exemplified bravery, loyalty, discipline, hard work and dedication. He had a fervent love for the Airforce and this was evident when he speaks of his various experiences. Cory served his country in the Twenty-year War with Afghanistan. He was part of a support squadron, operating out of Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar and providing air support to the ground troops. Cory was also deployed to serve at Osan Air Base in South Korea where he served for four years. During those two years in South Korea, he met his girlfriend Bella. Cory shared a loving relationship with Bella, and was known for his adventurous spirit and diverse interests. He had a passion for traveling and dreamed of visiting Japan which was his next deployment had he not gotten ill. His hobbies included hiking, mountain climbing, and enjoying a variety of music. Cory spoke and wrote Korean at the beginner’s level, enjoyed gaming, and had a unique interest in breeding butterflies. He had a love for fast cars, particularly the Acura NSX which undoubtedly was his dream car. Cory enjoyed cooking and had a particular interest in Jamaican cuisine. He placed great value in a healthy lifestyle. He was very strict with his workout routines and never wavered from working out consistently even when he is on vacation and during the early days of his illness. Cory found joy in watching movies, spending time outdoors - especially at the beach.
Cory was a very kind-hearted and loving individual, known for his generosity, commitment, and unconditional love. He was patient, loyal, courageous, strong, and resilient. He has been very truthful and disciplined. Never lied for any reason and always refrained from using indecent language. His selflessness and intelligence were matched by his humility and great sense of humor. Cory would give a joke on the spur of the moment and that joke would resonate long after he departed. He had a happy character and loves to make everyone around him happy as well. He would make a joke on you in a kind sarcastic way that would make you laugh even though the joke is on you. Cory was a man of his word, polite, diligent, very mannerable and beautiful both inside and out.
Cory always aspired to make a difference. Despite facing a rare illness, he remained determined to overcome it and intended to write a book to help others facing similar challenges.
Cory is survived by his mother, Michelle; his father, Etus, his brother, Chad, his grandmother, Patsy, numerous Aunts, Uncles. Cousins, friends and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Vera and Vincent Collman.
A committal service to celebrate Cory's life will be held at the Houston National Cemetery, located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX, 77038, on December 2, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 2:20 pm.
The family expresses their gratitude for the love and support received during this time. Cory Vaughn Collman's legacy of kindness, generosity, and inspiration will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
