His smile and strong arms wrapped around many in his 30 years and that big bear hug of his will be missed by all. His memory will be honored by his parents Larry and Catherine Hutchings, his brother Scott and fiancé Heather, his brother Spencer and wife Shannon, and his pups Tukka and Koda. He will also be missed by his Grandpa Don Simpson (Kingston, Canada) and Nana Dora Ann Hutchings (Gananoque, Canada); Uncles and Aunts Bryon and Teresa Edwards (Mississippi Lake, Canada), John and Betty Simpson (Sydenham, Canada); cousins Rob and Mark Edwards and especially “The Cousins” Andrew, Stewart and Derek Simpson.
Craig was larger than life and packed more adventure and curiosity into his 30 years than most people do in their full lifetime. He was proud to work for the Houston Port Authority where he felt valued and challenged. He was a hockey player, a skier, a fisherman, a diver, a grill master and chef. He was an explorer, a knowledge hound, a giver. He never met a stranger; he was a fiercely proud Texan.
Craig lived life in the Craig-o way – strong and passionately.
We will celebrate his life and the man himself on Friday, March 20th, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Kingwood Funeral Home. Regretfully, the services will be by invitation only - as our nation deals with the current health crisis. The Celebration Of Life will be Live-Streamed and access will be granted by clicking on the link under DONATIONS. In consideration and as a tribute to Craig, you are encouraged to share your thoughts, stories of Craig's life and any condolences on the Kingwood Funeral Home website - all of which will be complied into a "Life Remembered " book which will be presented to the family after the services. As well, those who would like to honor Craig's memory are encouraged to donate to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation (TPWF.org) or simply give a big hug or smile to someone who needs it.
