May 30, 1933April 28, 2012

Daniel Milton Fischer, Sr., born May 30, 1933 in Houston, TX, passed away on April 28, 2012 in Kingwood, TX. Dan was a native Houstonian and graduated from Pasadena High School in 1951. He started working for Humble Oil on March 15th, 1952 and married the love of his life, Kathryn Fischer on February 16, 1952. Later, he worked for Exxon and then Exxon/ Mobil. Dan graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Electronics Technology in 1962 and continued to do further studies at the University of Houston. After 41 successful years at Exxon/Mobil as a construction superintendent, he retired in 1992 to further his interest in loved hobbies: fishing, golf, wind chimes, and art work with exotic wood creations ( Dan loved golf and fishing, and was a part of Bass Masters. He began making wind chimes and crafts that led into woodworking. He studied with Lloyd Chaney, a master wood-turner. He then joined art leagues in parts of Texas, had many showings in art galleries, and joined art shows. He won many ribbons and honors at juried shows. Above all in Dan's life was his relationship with Jesus Christ. He served as Deacon in Trinity Tabernacle Assembly of God in Baytown. Then he was an elder at Church in the City, Houston, TX. He was also an elder in the Kingwood Vineyard and Spring Vineyard church plants from Church in the City. He served with Mike Barber's Prison Ministry and Alpha Prison Ministry. He also started a Bible study while working at Exxon/Mobil that lasted 8 years. Dan and Kathryn celebrated 60 years of marriage this past February. He is loved deeply by his three children, Dan Jr., David and Pam, nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren (and one on the way). Allie and Clarence Fischer, along with his sister Doris Ann, greeted Dan in Heaven. The Fischer family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Kingwood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Kingwood Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to The Vineyard Christian Church of Spring, 17800 Kuykendahl Road, Spring, Texas 77379.

Dad - Thanks for being a true example of being a Godly man, that loves the Lord, loves his wife, and loves and trains his children. I have a wonderful heritage. I am flesh of your flesh, heart of your heart. I will always carry you with me, forever.

Dan--It's been 6 months today--seems like an eternity. The weather is turning cold and I miss the warmth of you next to me. Someday we will both be "safely home" together. Great is HIS Faithfulness. Kathryn

Kathryn and Family,
I was so very sorry to hear about Dan, but I know he is resting in the arms of Jesus today. I was out of town when I learned about his home-going and was not able to see you at visitation or the service. Please know my heart and my prayers are with you and the family. Love you all, Rene & Randy Oakley

I'm with Becky, I remember Dan's bear hugs. I know this there were never truer friends than Dan and Kathryn. I know you will miss him a bundle Kathryn. But just know there are friends and love ones standing with you and I will be prying for you. It doesn't take the pain away but it does make it feel better at times. Love you.

Dan, since I know where you are and I know who you are with, it makes it so much easier to let you go.

Love you,

I am so very sorry for your great loss. Words cannot explain how I feel to have not seen Dan in years, but to KNOW I will see him again. I love you Kathryn and am just a phone call away.

Will always remember Dan's generous bear hug and his deep laugh that created creases across his face. Blessings to you Kathryn as you grieve and let go of the physical presence of this man whom you love. Praying that tears and memories will surround your heart with hope.
