Danny was born July 15, 1947 in Henderson, Texas to James Roy Little and Bessie Lee Little. He is preceded in death by his aforementioned parents, sons, Stephen Kirk Little and Michael Kirk Little, and by his brother Billy H. Little.
Danny is survived by his childhood sweetheart, Charlotte Little, son, James Christopher Little, and daughter, Catherine Danielle Little. In addition, he is survived by Bill and Carol Duncan, Charlie Duncan, Sandy and Steve Badeaux, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Danny and Charlotte were married on July 29, 1966 in Houston, Texas and continued to celebrate their love for the next 58 years until his passing. Three months after marriage, Danny was drafted into the Army. Upon graduation from basic training in Fort Polk, Louisiana, Danny was stationed in Korea along the DMZ for the duration of his 2 years of service to the country. His love of this country and strong sense of patriotism remained unwavering for his entire life.
Once Danny returned home, he and Charlotte set out to start a family. After the loss of two sons at birth, they were finally blessed with the birth of Christopher in 1979 and Catherine in 1981. Danny was a devoted husband and father, always putting his family at the forefront of his thoughts and actions. He never missed a baseball game for Christopher, school performance, or dance / piano recital for Catherine.
From a career standpoint, Danny joined Armco Steel upon his return home from the Army and remained there until the early 80’s. Following the steel industry’s decline, Danny then changed companies to HL&P where he served as a power plant mechanic for the next 30 years. During this time he forged many long lasting friendships that have lasted a lifetime.
Though Danny did not go to college, he unofficially became an honorary Aggie when Christopher graduated from Texas A&M. Danny bled maroon and white with the most ardent Aggie graduate and held season tickets for Aggie football games for many years following Christopher’s graduation.
In addition to watching college football, Danny enjoyed fishing in Galveston’s West Bay and playing golf and softball. Danny also loved traveling, and especially enjoyed Yellowstone National Park, the Black Hills of South Dakota, Dubai, cruising the Caribbean and frequent excursions to Disney World.
