Dexter Morris Friday

Dexter Morris Friday, 61, passed away on May 7, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a son, brother, father, and "Pop Pop" to his grandson. Dexter held managerial and leadership roles across a diverse range of companies and ran his own sign-painting business for over 30 years. He cherished family, road trips on his motorcycle, and a good game of poker.

He is survived by his children, Natalie Friday and Nathan Friday (Katie); grandson, Maxwell Mitchell; father, Samuel David Friday Sr.; siblings, Charles McGill (Pepper) and Virgil Dixon (Jeffery); and nephew and niece, CJ and Karringtyn McGill.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Pinkie McGill; sister, Estelle Lenita Johnson; and brother, Samuel David Friday Jr.

A celebration of life will be held at Elm Ridge Funeral Home in Muncie, Indiana, on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. Visiting time with family and friends will be from 3:00 to 4:00, with a service at 4:00. Dexter has requested that his ashes be returned to the land that meant so much to him in East Texas. His children will escort him to his final resting place in Winnsboro.
