Doug was born December 5, 1956 in Burlington, Iowa to Armond and Donna (Willard) Wordsworth. He married Julie Crandall on June 25, 1977, and together they shared a beautiful life filled with love, adventure, and devotion to their children.
He built a life grounded in hard work, deep love for his family, and simple joys. He dedicated over 30 years of service to Bridgestone/Firestone, where his commitment and work ethic earned the respect of all who knew him. Outside of work, Doug found joy on the open road, often riding his motorcycle alongside his beloved wife and children. His greatest passion, however, was woodworking — spending countless hours in his workshop crafting pieces with care and creativity. Whether building something by hand or simply sharing a quiet moment, Doug cherished time with his three children and grandchildren above all else.
Douglas Wordsworth was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Scott Wordsworth; grandmothers Clara Wordsworth and Delores Willard; aunt, Sandra Hess. He leaves behind his loving wife of 47 years, Julie Wordsworth; sons, Chad (Kelly) Wordsworth, Cody Wordsworth; daughter, Stephanie Wordsworth; grandchildren; Abigail, Hunter, Jaxson, Josie and Elijah Wordsworth.
Doug’s legacy lives on in the family he loved so dearly and the many lives he touched with his kindness, strength, and steady presence. He will be deeply missed. A celebration of life for Douglas will be held Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, TX 77339. A special thanks to Vantage Hospice for their compassionate support during Doug’s final days.
In remembrance of Doug, we ask that any floral tributes be in the form of living plants, which may be cherished in their memory.
