Emery E Borne Jr.

Emery Erl Borne, Jr., was born on November 24, 1947, in Houston, Texas, to Emery Sr. (deceased) and Johanna George Borne. Emery died in Houston on March 18, 2011. He graduated from Houston's John H. Reagan High School, and received his bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering in 1970 from the University of Texas at Austin. Emery began his engineering career with McDonald -Douglas, in Saint Louis, Missouri, and upon his return to Houston, he worked for the engineering firm of Walter P. Moore. Later, Emery partnered in the formation of his own engineering firm known as Jones/Borne/Inc.

He was married for 36 years to the love of his life and best friend, Frances "Ann" Garrett Borne. They have two precious daughters, Rebecca "Becky" Borne and Jennifer Borne. He leaves behind a host of relatives including his mother, Johanna Borne; a sister, Jo Anne Borne Baskin, and her husband Coy Baskin, Sr., their children, C. L. Baskin, Jr. and his wife, Ashley, and Christian Baskin; sister-in-law, Nancy Garrett Martin, and her husband, Lynn Martin, their children, Mandy Martin and Garrett Martin; and brother-in-law, Brian Garrett.

Emery loved his Lord and Savior. At the time of his passing he was a member of Tallowood Baptist Church in Houston. The pallbearers include John Richards, Ronnie Smith, Jim Penola, Chip Woodward, Jamey Smith, Mark Borum, Max Wright, and Coy Baskin.

Visitation will be held at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Eastex Freeway, Kingwood, Texas, on Monday March 21, 2011, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. A celebration of his life will be held at Tallowood Baptist Church, 555 Tallowood, Houston, Texas, on Tuesday March 22, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. followed by interment at Brookside Cemetery, 13401 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in his name to the American Cancer Society, M. D. Anderson Hospital or charity of your choice.
