

Eugene Elie Bardwell, born October 3, 1933 to Ella MacMaster Bardwell and Samuel Bardwell in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, died May 22, 2010 in Humble, Texas at the age of 76. Eugene served in the Essex Scottish Service in his youth and after becoming a United States Citizen in 1949 served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Betty Laughren on July 22, 1949, starting a long, happy life together. Eugene worked for the United States Post Office for 13 years in Detroit, Michigan and then retired from Michigan Bell Telephone Company after 30 years of service. In his retiremnt years he was a Police Auxillary in Livonia, Michigan. Eugene was a loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed his years as Little League Baseball Coach. He also enjoyed fishing, music and playing his Harmonica. In Detroit, he was a member of Temple Baptist Church from 1950 -1989 and then, upon moving to Kingwood became a member of Kingwood First Baptist Church. Mr. Bardwell is survived by his wife, Betty; sons, Stephen D. Bardwell and his wife, Diane and William J. Bardwell and his wife, Marla; grandsons, Matthew R. Bardwell, Bradley S. Bardwell, and granddaughters, Blair Bardwell and Crystal J. Jordan and her husband, Tom, and great granddaughter, Emily Jordan; sisters, Margie Morgan, Viola Bardwell, and Thelma Klien. Memorial Services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Kingwood First Baptist Church with Dr. Dearing Garner officiating.
