July 22, 2009 – June 10, 2025
With profound sorrow and aching hearts, we announce the passing of Evangeline Anne Greek, lovingly known as Evie, who entered eternal rest in the comforting arms of God on June 10, 2025, at the age of 15. She was surrounded by her devoted family during her peaceful transition.
Born on July 22, 2009, in Houston, Texas, to Andrew Ryan Greek and Allison Anne Arceneaux, Evie’s life was filled with immeasurable love, light, and laughter. She radiated warmth, with her tender spirit and brought joy to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her laugh was infectious, her smile unwavering, and her heart open to all, especially children and animals, to whom she was instinctively drawn.
Evie had a deep compassion for others and often spent her time volunteering with children in her church communities and advocating for the welfare of animals. She loved visiting shelters and speaking up for those who could not speak for themselves. In addition to her volunteer work, Evie was a trusted and beloved babysitter, caring for younger children with patience, joy, and a nurturing spirit.
A rising junior at Summer Creek High School, Evie was a bright and ambitious student enrolled in Advanced Placement and Health Science courses. She was a proud member of HOSA – Future Health Professionals, where she pursued her passion for medicine. Her dream was to attend Louisiana State University and become a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
Evie was a loyal friend, a loving sister, and a cherished daughter, granddaughter, great granddaughter, and niece. Throughout her life she adored playing volleyball, running track, water skiing, traveling, hanging out with friends, singing in the school choir, shopping, tasting exotic foods, baking, butterflies and anything pink or aqua. She leaves behind a legacy of joy, compassion, and grace that touched countless hearts.
Evie is deeply mourned and lovingly remembered by her mother, Allison Arceneaux; her father and stepmother, Andrew and Lisa Greek; and her beloved siblings, John Arceneaux and Mila and Jacob Greek. She is also survived by her maternal grandparents Al and Shirley Arceneaux; her paternal grandparents, Matt and Carol Greek; her uncles and aunts, Carl Arceneaux and Mark and Nancy Arceneaux and Ben and Lauren Greek; and her cherished cousins, Liam, Hannah, and Charlotte Greek and Landon Tuel Arceneaux.
She is further survived by great-grandparents, extended family, and a host of friends and loved ones who will forever hold her in their hearts.
A Celebration of Life and Funeral Mass will be held at a later date, with details to be shared.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Evie’s spirit lives on in every act of kindness, in every creature she cared for, and in every memory, she gifted us. She will always be our radiant light, our butterfly in the breeze, gracing the world with softness even in her absence.
