Gloria Jean Skinner

Gloria is survived by: her husband of 54 years, Doug Skinner; her children, Kathy Skinner, Lynne Skinner and Susan Rawl; her son-in-law, Charles Rawl; and, her beloved grandchildren, Taylor Beaman Prinsen, Madelyn Rawl, Zachary Rawl and Daisy Sullivan.

Gloria was born January 2, 1940 to Francis (‘Bill’) and Lola Hommelson, in St. Louis, MO.

On October 29, 1960, she married Doug, a young engineer and student at Washington University in St. Louis. After having three treasured daughters, they moved to Texas in 1968 with MW Kellogg Company and raised their family in Northwest Houston. Their girls all attended Spring High School.

Gloria and Doug moved to Galveston in 1991 and opened Skinner’s Antiques in the Historic George Fox Home at 14th and Ball streets. They relocated to Kingwood in 2007.

A funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday, November 3 at the Kingwood Funeral Home, with visitation scheduled at the same location on Sunday, November 2 from 3-5 p.m. Visit www.kingwoodfuneralhome.com for more details and/or to leave a memorial message.
