

Harriet C. Ballenger, 86, of Kingwood, Texas, passed away on Friday, August 10, 2012. Harriet was born in Kinston, North Carolina to Claude and Cleo Chastain. She was a member of the Daughters of the Nile and Eastern Star where she was the Worthy Matron of the Wimberley Chapter in 1992. Harriet was also a member of the Lions Club of Wimberley and the Wimberley Players. After moving to Waco, Texas, Harriet became a docent at the Mayborn Museum. She had over 100 service hours with Shriners Hospitals for Children as well as over 500 service hours for the Texas Association of Hospital Auxiliaries. Harriet was an avid traveler who visited every continent except for Asia.
Harriet is survived by her children, Ron Ballenger and wife Pat of Bay City, TX, Becky Bradley and husband David of Kingwood, TX and Pegi Ballenger and husband Ray Parry of Woodland Park, CO; grandchildren, Zak Ballenger, Valerie Gollnick and John Bradley; great-grandchildren, Lucile Rose Ballenger, Caleb Sawyer Gollnick, Riley Madison Gollnick, Caden Samuel Gollnick and Lily Ellen Bradley.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2012 in the Chapel of Kingwood Funeral Home.
