He was born November 7, 1949 in Sweetwater, Tx.
He graduated from Texas Tech in 1973 with a degree in Finance. He was married in 1974. His first job was as a loan officer at a savings & loan in Gainesville, Tx. He switched to sales as a manufacturer’s rep for 10 years. He returned to his first love of finance and retired as CFO of Utex Industries in Houston in 2019.
He loved riding his Harley with friends. He also rode with the Patriot Guard, a voluntary honor guard for military funerals.
He was preceded in death by his younger brother, David Pointer and his parents General AJ and Louise Pointer.
He is survived by his wife Suzanne and his son, Steven Pointer, his two sisters, Janice Bida and Sharon Evans.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Kingwood Funeral Home, located at 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, TX 77339, United States. The service is scheduled for January 24, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
