Jerry Dean Myers was welcomed into this world on June 24, 1955. His parents not only welcomed Jerry that day but also his twin sister, Terri. Like many twins, Jerry and Terri grew up as best friends - - a relationship that they maintained Jerry’s entire life.
Following his high school graduation, Jerry joined the United States Marine Corp. He faithfully served the country he loved and was honorably discharged in 1978. Jerry had a heart for service to others as well as a natural instinct to always be a protector. So, it didn’t surprise anyone when Jerry joined the Harris County Sheriff’s Department. The mission of the Department, sums up the code that Jerry shaped his life around: “To enhance the safety and protect the trust of the citizens of Harris County by enforcing the law with integrity and professionalism."
The most important things in Jerry’s life were God, Family and Country. He was willing to give his all in service - no sacrifice would have been too large.
He truly lived out the well-known motto of the Corp: Semper Fi. He lived his life always faithful, always with integrity and always with grace. Jerry will be missed by all that had the privilege of being part of Jerry’s life.
