Joe Ortiz

Joe Ortiz, 78, of Porter, passed in peace on Sunday April 26, 2015. He was born on July 2, 1936 in Houston, Texas. He lived most of his life in Porter, where he loved being outdoors. He loved camping, fishing and boating. Music was one of his favorite passions. He loved to build small pieces of furniture and add his own special touch and paint them odd colors, such as, his purple garage.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Margie Ortiz; His only sister, Alicia Perez; His five children, JoJo A. Ortiz, Michael Ortiz (Vera), Cynthia Herrera, Rebecca Perez (Greg Garcia) and Belinda Trevino; His grandchildren, Joe Tony Ortiz, Dani Jo, Candice Martinez, Jiselle Ortiz, Angelo Ortiz, Regina Perez, Tony R. Perez, Victoria Marquez, Chelsea Herrera, Nicholas Trevino, Courtney Trevino; His 7 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great- Great-Grandchild; His nephew, Christopher Martinez (Isabel).

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, TX 77339. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Kingwood Funeral Home.
