Today my brother joined  my dad, God bless you 2, I will miss you both, John Jr

We have fond memories of my brother-in-law John. He was so easy to talk to and always joked with us about being from the Navy side of the family. My sister Rita, John and Kim all participated in our wedding when Kathy and I married 49 years ago.  Throughout the years we identified with Rita and John's family moves and settling in different locations. John wore so many hats over the years, soldier, farmer, professor but his best was as a devoted husband and father. 

Grateful for the opportunity to meet John L. Price Jr.'s father, who he has always had so much admiration for.  This is a memory that we will cherish forever.  R.I.P. Col. John Lawrence Price Sr. and thank you for your service.

A True inspiration to me!  John was a huge reason why I went into the military!  He was always a great role model for me as a kid and a huge mentor of mine!  I cherish the time we had together in Missouri and helping him on his farm.  He was a wonderful man!

Our sincerest condolences go out to you Rita, we are so very sorry about the loss of your wonderful husband and best friend. We loved John and always enjoyed being with him. So many terrific memories of our bike rides together. We will miss him so very much, but we know he is in heaven with our loving and merciful God, full of joy and happiness with no more pain. I always knew him as Uncle Larry. He would come stay with our family when he was on leave from the Army. As early as I can remember, He would  tell me about his war stories and hunting stories and I hung on every word. Growing up I wanted to be just like him.
The stories never stopped. Every time we got together he had a great story to share. I will always have a special place in my heart for him. 
I will miss you so much Uncle Larry 

John is a very special man, and will always stay in the hearts of people who have come across him!

I have been blessed to live with John and Rita in the year 1994 as an exchange student in Richard,  MO - they both became a second family for me.   

A lot of fond memories! - first drives, trips to Wendy's,  going to the car selling markets.., or to the University where John was working (being only one of his jobs), or to Sunday church classes / service and then brunches...   

I knew John when he was a retired Colonel,  but I have always been amazed about his great interest into so many diverse things and desire to enjoy life to the fullest!   John wasn't in the hurry,  but he seemed to have loads of spare time and managed to do loads of things .  He was a true Head of his family!

Dearest John - may God bless you to be in heaven - for your kind nature and great heart, great humour, for you being You! 

Dearest Rita - the love that you and John shared is one in millions (or maybe even one in billions!).  The love from John was always shining towards you and always will! !

I am so very grateful for the time I got to spend with my grandfather.  My favorite memory is when he asked me to take a bike ride to breakfast at a nearby market.  Me, being 54 years younger, thought a quick ride around the block.  After the first mile, I am starting thinking this is a good ride.  After the second mile, I start breaking a sweat and he is fading in the distance.  I thought how is he going so fast? Then after mile three he is waiting at the market saying, “What will you have?”  I could only think, I am impressed.  I know I didn’t realize it then, I’m not sure if he did or not, but now the more I think of that, it was probably one of the best lessons I learned.  My grandfather can do anything I can and do it better, has experienced everything I have, and so much more, so for that I have nothing but respect for him.  I am so very thankful for his service to our Country and me.  I wish I could be there with you all, especially my dad, John Price Jr, but know I am there in spirit.  My deepest condolences and love to all family and friends.  Bob, Amanda, Emily, & Casey Price.    


My uncle Larry, as I have always called him for the past 58 years. Was an incredible man, whom I have looked up to and admired.  I so appreciate his honorable military service , I first met Uncle Larry in the mid sixties when he had recently returned from one of his tours to Viet Nam. I remember He shared stories of his service which made proud that I had a uncle that was so brave.

I am grateful for the way he protected my mother when she was young. I asked my mother if she dated much, she said no, the boys were all afraid of her brother Larry, before she could date someone Larry had to approve them! Lucky for us he liked my dad.

We will miss you Uncle Larry, thank you for your service, your example and for being a caretaker of people. 

My dear Uncle Larry (John). Oh how we will miss you and your smile. So happy for the times we spent  having dinner. Fishing with Craig and just listening to your stories.  Love you. Craig and Pat

I’m grateful to call John and Rita my friends and while I’m sad John has left us I know where he is and he’s free of pain and earthly cares. John lived a great life serving country, his friends, and most of all his sweetheart Rita. Rita I pray you have peace and comfort as you reflect on John and know one day you will be reunited. I knew of Mr Price through his son John. We worked together in the rig move industry. I always asked how was his father, who I had learned served our country in the US Armed forces and had a distinguished career.   I also learned he was an avid bike rider. I had always hoped to meet him one day to hear about his career in the military if he was willing to share it. I would like to offer my sincere condolences to his entire family and especially to his son, my dear friend John.   May God welcome him and I thank him for his service.   Peter D. Mathers

We met over bagels at Panera bread that led to a friendship that shared many stories and solved many worldly problems.   We have a lot of good memories that we will never forget.   We miss you but know you are at peace.  

Although we didn't see or speak to each other as often as we should have and our lives we not as entwined as they could have been, I know I speak for all my sister's and brothers.  Our Dad loved us and we loved him too.
