Jordan Powell Hambrick was born in Taos, New Mexico on March 21, 1990 to his mother this is considered the first day of spring. Jordan was the son to proud parents Charlie and Kimberly Hambrick. Much loved big brother to his siblings Jazmyn and Jared Hambrick. World’s greatest uncle to Riley Charles Frazier.
Jordan passed away Wednesday March 2, 2016 after a lifelong battle with multiple lung and heart issues. He is survived by his maternal grandmother Dale Evans Powell of Navarre, FL; and Tom and Karen Gipson of Atlanta, GA; his paternal grandparents George and Lou Hambrick of Saginaw, TX; and Lloyd and Patricia Weimer of Lubbock, TX. Jordan is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He’s preceded in death by his much beloved Gran Edgar Eugene Powell III.
Jordan did not always recognize the gifts God gave him in particular he was fantastic with children. He was always patient and kind and willing to spend whatever time and attention that particular child needed. His love for movies was always a lucky babysitting break. He would sit with Abby and watch the same show over and over, he taught Austin how to peddle a bike instead of just riding a scooter, he spent countless hours playing with Riley at the park and listening to the same story that Riley would tell over and over and pretend to be surprised every time.
As a family our sincerest wish is that Jordan passed away knowing how much he was loved. We cannot imagine a life, a world without him. In our hearts we know he is in heaven with his Gran.
A memorial service for Jordan will be at 11:00 am on Saturday March 12, 2016 at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, Texas 77339.
Jordan’s family would like to ask that donations may be made to their Go Fund Me account they have registered. All proceeds will be forwarded to the American Lung Association gofundme.com/jordanpowellhambri.
