From an early age, Katherine loved star gazing, picking summer flowers, and finding the beauty in the simple things of nature. She grew to develop these loves into a successful florist business (Hyacinths) and kept our Christmas hearths and tables adorned in her amazing creations. She used the same creative ability to delight her family and friends with her southern cooking.
She loved watching bull riding, she was unbeatable at Scrabble, knew more about sports and players than most commentators, followed figure skating passionately and loved watching old classic movies but we must not forget 90 Day Fiancé or the Housewives of Beverley Hills. Kathy was a voracious reader of great literature. She was known to throw open the door and beckon us to come look at the stars while unbeknownst to her the dogs had run out and down the street.
Crested Butte, Colorado was often her summer home if she was not with her friend, Martha Wilcox in Cloud Croft, NM. She would linger in a meadow of wildflowers for hours and always come home with treasures bulging from her pockets.
Katherine is preceded in death by her parents Varreece and Gloria Berry and her son, John (Johnny) Bemrose. She is survived by her daughter, Heather Bemrose and her granddaughter Jewel Curtis , husband Kevin Curtis and great grandson, James Curtis, grandsons; Ethan Heck and Dylan Heck. She is also survived by Joni and Scott Griffith (sister), Joey and Sharon Berry (brother), Jennifer and Trent Wheeler (sister) and a large extended family and friends that loved her.
Hyacinths
If of thy mortal goods thou art bereft,
And from thy tender store
Two loaves alone to thee are left,
Sell one, and with the dole
Buy hyacinths to feed thy soul.
Persian poet
