Kathryn Kavanshansky

Kathryn “Kitty” Louise Kavanshansky, 79, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2026. She was born on August 23, 1947, in Lilly, Pennsylvania, to Joseph and Dorothy Evon. Kitty grew up in Gallitzin, Pennsylvania, and later made her home in Huffman, Texas.

Kitty was a devoted wife, mother, Mimi, sister, and friend. She shared 56 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Roger Kavanshansky. Together, they built a life filled with family, friendship, laughter, countless memoriesand they had two children, Michelle and Kathy.

Kitty absolutely adored her granddaughter and cherished every moment they shared. She was so proud of Raelyn and took great joy in watching her grow, sharing conversations, laughter, special occasions, and everyday moments together.

Kitty spent many years as a teacher, touching the lives of those around her through her caring nature and dedication. Outside of work, she enjoyed many things—playing golf, bowling, playing cards, listening to her favorite music, and especially spending quality time with the people she loved.

She loved The Beatles, Neil Diamond, and Rod Stewart. She also discovered a love for cruising. Although she was nervous about taking her first cruise, it didn't take long for her to fall in love with it, and cruising became something she truly enjoyed.

More than anything, Kitty treasured her family and friends. She had a way of making time spent together special, and the memories she created with those she loved will be cherished forever.

Kitty is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Roger Kavanshansky; her daughters, Michelle Kavanshansky Olson and her husband, Darren Olson, and Kathy Kavanshansky Rejcek and her husband, Chris Rejcek; her granddaughter, Raelyn Nicole Rejcek; her niece, Stacey Rose.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Dorothy Evon; her brother, Joseph “Mick” Evon; her sister, Linda Rose; and her first son-in-law, Patrick Casey.

Kitty did not want a large funeral, and her wishes will be honored with a small, private family service to celebrate and honor her life.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved by her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will live on in the stories we tell, the laughter we share, and the love she gave so freely to those around her.
