Preceded in death by her beloved father, John Curtis, and adoring mother-in-law, Sharon Woodring. Kim is survived by her devoted husband and partner of 15 years, Steve Woodring; Mother, Judy Curtis; sister Kris Falkenburg; nephew Curtis Falkenburg; niece Allie Falkenburg; father-in-law, Wayne Woodring; and sister-in-law, Kimberly Woodring.
Born February 8, 1974, to John and Judy Curtis. Kim grew up in the suburban bubble of Kingwood, Texas as a star GT student – very smart, sweet and adventurous. In high school Kim enjoyed escaping to Houston – especially Astroworld and concerts at The Summit - any chance she had. Upon graduation, she headed off to The University of Texas at Austin where she was fated to cross paths again with her fellow Kingwood Mustang and true love, Steve Woodring.
While Kim battled numerous health issues throughout her life, she never let hardship define her — instead, she chose joy, connection, and grace. Her resilience was inspiring- especially as an advocate for breast cancer survivors, providing thoughtful support to those navigating similar paths.
Kim loved spending time at the beach, the rhythm of Depeche Mode, the spirit of Austin, TX, and the loyal companionship of her beloved pets. But above all, she loved her husband, her family, and her closest friends. She gave herself fully and joyfully to those she cared about— not just in words, but in actions, presence, and laughter shared across countless good times.
Kim was the kind of person who made the world brighter just by being in it. Loyal to the core, effortlessly funny, and deeply thoughtful, she had a gift for making people feel seen, remembered, and loved — often through perfectly timed humor or a well-placed inside joke that only she could recall so vividly. As Kim would say, “It’s garlic bread fine.”
To know Kim was to know someone special who embodied the kind of connection we all hope for — “somebody who cares for me passionately, with every thought and with every breath…” That’s the kind of love she gave. She was, and will always be, somebody unforgettable.
Please join her family as we honor Kim and celebrate her life: Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 1:00pm at Kingwood Funeral Home: 22800 US-59, Kingwood, TX 77339.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, for donations to be made to Kinder Children’s Cancer Center at MD Anderson in Kim’s name.
