I knew lakay Roberts she went to my school and she was such a little cute girl,I always wanted for lakay to have something easier for her to walk in though but she had no way to do that and she passed away.

OK, I'm behind the power curve here, but after reading about Lakay Roberts I wanted to send my condolences. I have nothing more than words, but I hope it serves as some good. From everything I have read and seen on this young lady (she must be called so, for only a lady worthy of a royal seat could have as much grace, courage, light, life and love as she did), she is a great loss to this world. She is an inspiration to this disabled veteran and should be an inspiration and a model for this world. Kristi, you are such an great mother that words cannot match what you did with and for this great lady, your love and guidance is unmatched and I hope that you have everything you need. My condolences to you, your family and all of your friends for this loss.

Im so sorry to hear about lakays passing,if you need to talk to someone please  feel free to call me. Hailey is going to miss her sooo much and herself is very saddened about lakay,please know you are in our prayers and know that GOD is watching over you all! There really are not words to express that will comfort you at this time I know,but you are in our hearts! Jon will miss her!

Prayers for family and friends. I feel so blessed to have known Lakay and work with her in the classroom. She had a wonderful personality and a beautiful smile. I will never forget her last day at school. She went up and down the hallway telling everyone hi and she had the biggest smile on her face as she tried to run people over. Little Angel, you was a strong and determined little girl that will be greatly missed. I listen to the song by Dani and Lizzy, "Dancing in the Sky" and think of you.

Oh how much I fell in love with this little girl....the very first time Katie and Dennis came for a visit to Alabama.  Lulu, I will forever miss you.  Love you Waffy Daffy Aunt Kathy!

This beautiful and inspiring little girl, LaKay, will be missed by many. Our hearts break for her family as they try to find ways to cope with this tragic loss. May loved ones, friends, and God sustain them, and may God's Kingdom eventually, entirely resolve the hurt.

I remember the day that Lakay joined with her great little family. What a blessing they were to her and what a blessing she was to them.Their lives are forever changed by her sweet smile and spirit.The countless acts of love and service have touched all of us. The memory of LAKAY will enrich the  lives of her Brothers,Sister,Mother and all those who loved her. Thank you for your powerful example of pure love.

Your are in our prayers.  Lakey has a smile that lights up a room.  We joined in the cause to help Lakey with her school.  She was an angel sent by god to fight for this cause and bring attention to the needs of the handicap.  Thank you for sharing her with us.

I learned of LaKay, and you Kristi.  I believe that each and everyone of us are here to learn and teach. Kristi,
This poem made me think of LaKay with her sunny smile, near divine soul and angel form.  She truly did gladden the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.  We are praying for God's peace for you and your family, and for God's love to surround you through this difficult time.

I am so sorry to hear about LaKay!  Heaven just got another ANGEL ! She will be missed so much here on earth. She had the most amazing smile and bright eyes that would just make you smile too......

Lakay and Kristi Roberts came to my attention a year and a half ago when I learned of Kristi's campaign to get the New Caney, Texas, schools to treat Lakay fairly. Kristi's loving support of Lakay helped her achieve far more than anyone expected. To everyone's surprise, Kristi helped Lakay learn to walk with a walker. Lakay's face expressed both the joy she took in her accomplishment and her confidence that her mother loved her completely and unconditionally.  When the school took away the walker, Kristi stood up for her daughter. Her videos documenting the school's mistreatment of Lakay persuaded hundreds to join her campaign. Kristi's brilliant advocacy inspired everyone. She became my standard for what loving parents do to support their children.

This past weekend brought the news that Lakay had passed during a seizure. Looking at the videos again brought the earlier campaign into a new focus. During the campaign, we all believed we were helping Lakay and Kristi. We thought the issue persuading the schools to let Lakay use the walker. Now I realized that Lakay and Kristi were the ones doing the helping. 

Lakay and Kristi were teaching all of us the power and joy of love. Kristi's love for Lakay is imprinted in every picture of Lakay's face. Reviewing the pictures and videos, I could not stop crying. My parents loved me, but not as much as Kristi loved Lakay. I love my children, but I have never expressed it the way Kristi does. We should all be jealous of Lakay. We should all have Kristi for our mom. We want to be loved by our parents the way Kristi loves Lakay. We still need lessons from Kristi on how to love our children. We all need lessons from Lakay on how to feel the love we get. We all need lessons from both on how to love. 

We are all sad that Lakay is gone. I cannot imagine Kristi's pain. We all want to do for Kristi what she did for Lakay: to take away the pain, and to help her see how good she is. Let's hold up a mirror to Kristi so that she can see what the rest of us see. Kristi helped Lakay achieve far more than any of the doctors thought possible. Kristi made sure that Lakay had confidence in herself and knew that her mother loved her completely. 

At the end of the movie: "The Natural" Robert Redford says he wanted to be known as the "best there ever was." 

By any reasonable measure of what it means to be a good parent, whether it is:

1. our children's knowledge that their parents love them, 
2. our children's abilities to accomplish far beyond all expectations, or
3. our children feeling joy and love each day, 

Kristi Roberts is the best parent there ever was.

What a precious, happy, loving baby-doll! She brought so much joy to our lives and to our family.  We will miss having her light up the room. May Heavenly Father wrap her parents in His arms while they grieve.
